Terms of Service
Welcome to Life Chart. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Life Chart mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country or region, to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
2. About the Service
Life Chart is a profile and timeline-based storytelling service that allows users to create profiles, biographies, chart points, classes, tags, and public-facing profile pages. Certain features may be available for free, while other features may require a paid subscription.
3. Accounts and Access
You are responsible for maintaining access to your account, device, and sign-in method. You are also responsible for activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information where required and must not impersonate another person or entity.
We may refuse access to, suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, harm the Service, or create risk for other users or third parties.
4. User Content
The Service allows you to create, upload, publish, and manage content, including display names, biographies, chart points, profile classes, tags, images, and related materials (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the rights you grant under these Terms.
By submitting or publishing User Content through the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, format, transmit, and distribute that User Content only as necessary to operate, provide, secure, improve, and moderate the Service.
5. Public Profiles and Visibility
The Service may allow you to set content as public, unlisted, or private. If you choose public or unlisted visibility, your content may be accessible through public webpages or direct links. You are responsible for deciding what information you publish and should not publish information you do not want others to see.
6. Your Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for your User Content and your use of the Service.
You agree not to submit, upload, publish, or share content that:
- is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading;
- infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights of another person;
- impersonates another person or falsely suggests affiliation or endorsement;
- contains threats, harassment, hate, abuse, exploitation, or other harmful material;
- contains malware, malicious code, or technical interference;
- is used for spam, manipulation, or abusive automated behavior; or
- violates applicable law, platform rules, or these Terms.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- harass, abuse, stalk, threaten, or exploit others through the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code except where permitted by law;
- use bots, scrapers, or scripts to misuse the Service without authorization;
- bypass limits, restrictions, moderation actions, or access controls;
- use the Service in a way that could damage the Service, our infrastructure, or other users.
8. Copyright and Intellectual Property
You must only upload or publish content that you have the legal right to use. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may contact us through the support contact made available through the Service or store listing.
All rights in the Service itself, excluding User Content, including software, design, branding, text, graphics, and service materials, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law.
9. Moderation, Enforcement, and Bans
We may review, remove, restrict, hide, disable, or otherwise act on content or accounts where we reasonably believe this is necessary to enforce these Terms, comply with legal obligations, protect users or the Service, or address abuse, fraud, impersonation, copyright complaints, or security risks.
We may suspend or permanently ban accounts for serious or repeated violations. We may also remove public visibility, disable features, or limit access without prior notice where necessary.
10. Paid Plans and Subscriptions
Some features or usage limits depend on your subscription plan. Paid subscriptions are processed through Apple and the App Store. Pricing, billing periods, renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations are managed through Apple’s systems and may be subject to Apple’s own terms and policies.
Your access to paid features depends on valid subscription status as recognized by the Service and its billing integrations.
We may offer free trials, introductory pricing, promotional pricing, or limited-time subscription offers where supported by the App Store. Eligibility, duration, renewal behavior, and post-trial billing are determined by Apple’s systems and the applicable App Store configuration.
11. Subscription Management, Cancellation, and Restoration
You may be able to upgrade, downgrade, manage, or cancel your subscription through the App Store subscription management interface. Cancellation generally stops future renewal but does not guarantee retroactive refunds unless required by applicable law or platform policy.
Any in-app “Restore” feature is intended to restore recognized purchase status where available, but final billing and subscription management remain subject to Apple’s systems.
If your subscription changes to a plan with lower usage limits, certain creation, editing, publishing, or visibility features may become limited until your account usage is reduced to the limits of the new plan. We do not guarantee that content exceeding the new plan limits will remain fully editable or publishable without adjustment.
Subscription recognition may depend on the App Store account, transaction status, platform systems, and billing integrations used by the Service. We are not responsible for delays, failures, or mismatches caused by store account differences, platform availability, or external billing systems.
12. Refunds
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or App Store policy, purchases are final and non-refundable. Refund requests must be made directly through Apple and are handled under Apple’s refund rules.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on or interact with third-party providers, including hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, subscription tooling, app stores, and external links. Your interactions with those third parties may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
14. Advertising and Promotional Content
The Service may display third-party advertisements or promotional content provided by us or by third parties. Your interactions with such advertisements, websites, products, or services are solely between you and the relevant third party, and we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from those interactions.
15. Service Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
16. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy: Privacy Policy.
17. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, or data preservation.
We do not guarantee that content on the Service will be accurate, complete, lawful, or suitable for your purposes.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, business, goodwill, data, or opportunities arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) USD 50.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless [OPERATOR NAME], its affiliates, and its personnel from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your User Content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, unless the law of your country or region of residence requires otherwise.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, website, or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
